Volkswagen Mexico labor negotiations reached an agreement, a pay increase of 6.58%

A number of Mexican media reported on August 15 that the mass labor negotiations that began in 2018 ended on August 14 and the two sides signed a letter of intent.It was finally resolved after being approved by the Ministry of Social Welfare and Labor (STPS) of Mexico City.The salary increase began on August 18 and is targeted at 7,700 union workers at the Puebla plant.The labor union (SITIAVW: Independent Trade Union of Workers of the Automotive, Similar and Related Industries Volkswagen of Mexico) received a pay rate of 6.58%.Among them, wages rose by 4.78%, savings funds rose by 1%, and food depreciation subsidies in the form of food stamps rose by 0.8%.(multiple sources on August 15, 2019)
